About the Artist

Today I am a free, independent artist devoid of any particular attachment to any school. What is special in me is that I have not built a particular style to recognize my work of Art/separately. When I visualize something interesting in my mind I first give thought whether the outcome will be traditionally serious, or whether it will be in highter vein. There is why most Art lovers say that I have a number of Artists inside me. The results are so different. I have conducted very successful Art exhibitions not only in Sri-Lanka but also in Germany, Austria, Australia, England and several other countries. I have participated exhibitions of Art and sculpture conducted by Ceylon Society of Arts.

I have won the Presidential awards from 1996 to 2002 and since 2003 I have received highest awards for best performance from international Art Associations.
Presently I am living at Ahangama, a beautiful village between Galle and Matara and at the same spot where I had the ‘VISIKI ART GALLLRY’. I am also one of the victims of tsunami which devasted all my awards received, my paintings all valuables including my home. The awards which I had treasured so much were washed away and they can never be brought back. However like Phonix which rose from Ashes, I had to rebuild my Art Gallery from the debris that was left behind by tsunami. However I am very much grateful to my Art lovers, all Art and cultural friends, dancing, music or whatever, for giving me the hand to rise again. Finally I wish to give a message to all.

The world, in a rat race today. Everyone trying to overtake the other there is no peace and harmony in my country, as well as most countries are at war. It is only the lovers of Art who can bring peace, solace to the communily. So let as all get together and present pleasentuen to unpleasentuen, kindness to anger and unkindness. Then only the world will be such a pleasant place to live.
